Luxury chain Marriott International have announced Margaret River will have its first ever five-star resort in the form of Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa which will open its doors in 2023.

The Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa will be located on the southern headland of Gnarabup Beach, including 120 guest rooms, on-site dining venues, and meeting and event space.

Construction expects to see 300 jobs open to the market, with 100 jobs sustained once the resort opens in three years time.

The hotel is being designed by WA architect Christou Design Group, with WA companies Saracen Properties and Security Capital Australia carrying out the joint development of the project.

It will feature views over the Indian Ocean, access to the Cape to Cape and other local attractions, and its on-site dining options will support local producers by sourcing local produce from around the region.
