Despite leading the way in their handling of the COVID-19 crisis, the McGowan government has set up a top-level State Recovery Advisory Group to advise how the State should recover going forward.
The State Recovery Advisory Group includes representatives from business, industry, not-for-profit organisations, UnionsWA, the public sector, local government and the community.
The group will provide high level and strategic advice on the impacts of COVID-19 and will provide valuable feedback to the State Government on ongoing and emerging challenges relating to COVID-19.
While these have been difficult and unprecedented times, Western Australians have done a terrific job in helping stop the spread of COVID-19.
Premier Mark McGowan acknowledged that WA residents were doing it tough and pledged the government’s focus on recovery.
“We acknowledge that this has been an extremely difficult time, particularly for WA small businesses and supporting them to get back on their feet will be an important part of our State’s recovery.
“Now with the State Recovery Advisory Group in place, Western Australia is well placed to move into the recovery phase, so we can rebuild our great State.
Mr McGowan added: “This experienced and knowledgeable group will provide valuable insights to support the development of a strong State Recovery Plan.”
